About

Iris Code is built in the open, with a real person accountable for it.

Iris Code is a local-first code-health and enforcement product for developers who want deterministic feedback before code reaches review.

Who builds Iris Code

Iris Code is built and maintained by David Jaja. David owns the product, ships the VS Code extension and CLI, writes the documentation, and handles support.

Follow David on X or LinkedIn, or email hello@iriscode.co.

The name

The product and public brand are always Iris Code. The shorter name iris is reserved for technical identifiers where brevity matters, including the CLI command, VS Code command IDs, settings, and configuration files.

Independent by design

Iris Code is an independent developer tool and is not affiliated with Microsoft, GitHub, or the maintainers of the supported programming languages. VS Code and GitHub are trademarks of their respective owners.

Catch regressions before human review

Install Iris Code, set a threshold, and make every change answer to the same deterministic rules. Source analysis runs locally. The same rules run in VS Code, the iris CLI, hooks, and CI.
